thevintagesurfboard.com gives back: early 80’s twin fin by McCoy, The See + Sprout Project and Costa Verde International School

This is a classic piece of surfing history – an early 80’s twin fin by McCoy.

I sold this perfect condition ride on Ebay last November and donated all proceeds  to The See + Sprout. The See + Sprout Project is an international creative collective created to support victims of the 2004 Asian tsunami in Thailand.

In  December 2008 I donated my time to the project as they headed off to Sayulita, Mexico.  The See and Sprout Team did photography workshops  with students from Costa Verde International School, Mexico’s first green school.  www.seeandsprout.com

If you plan to be in Santa Barbara April 2nd please spread the word as the school is having a benefit event http://www.colegiocostaverde.com/santaBarbFundraiser09.html

I have donated an  early 80’s Al Merrick Channel Islands twin fin surfboard for the benefit auction.

Photos of the  board will be posted here this week.  If you’re in the Santa Barbara area on April 2nd, come out and support a great school and see Tom Curren’s band play live.
